[Official Animated Video] Mayhem & Reckonize Real ft. Skyzoo & Treva Ho...

The duo of Mayhem (of EMS) and veteran producer Reckonize Real recently put out their collaborative project and in the interim, they share this solid gem "City Rises Up" to keep the momentum going. The track enlists the lyrical prowess of Brooklyn lyricist Skyzoo and Boston singer Treva Holmes who provides the hook to complete the mission.

On the verses, Mayhem and Skyzoo take time to detail their individual experiences while paying homage to their respective birthplaces. Skyzoo sets it off with his accurate description of the borough of Brooklyn referencing real-life Radio Raheems, Graff writers and the hustle mentality that makes the planet (a pet name for Brooklyn) unique. Mayhem follows up with a grimy take on life in Boston and how everyone is trying to find a way out of the cesspool of struggle. This tale of two cities is bridged by Treva Holmes' somewhat offbeat melodic performance over the vocal sample-driven backdrop. "City Rises Up" is taken from Mayhem & Reckonize Real's Audio Murals, a 12 track body of work produced entirely by Reckonize Real and features acts such as Rapper Big Pooh, Skyzoo, Justin Cohen and more. Mayhem of EMS (@MayhemofEMS) feat P-Ro “They Don’t Know [Official Video]

Mayhem (of EMS) feat P-Ro “They Don’t Know

“They Don’t Know” is the first single produced by P-Ro & written by Mayhem (of EMS) off of their upcoming “PROclaiMAYtion” EP. “They Don’t Know” is a powerful message of anger, frustration, and pain over a soulful backdrop. Truth is a harsh thing to face sometimes, but desperately important, especially in a world that too often turns a blind eye to it. This is a raw, yet poetic dose of truth and reality from fed-up black people living in this world addressed to those who don’t and can’t possibly know. via Deeply Rooted Hip Hop
